Languages and currencies

Wonpa ships translated into six languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese. English is the default. Every string a shopper sees — buttons, cart, quick order, the size matrix — comes from these translation files, so a store selling in any of the six needs no extra work.

The theme editor is translated too. When you edit the theme in one of the six languages, section names, setting labels, and help text appear in that language.

Switching and editing translations

Translations are managed in the Shopify admin, not in theme files.

  1. Open Settings → Languages and add the languages you sell in.
  2. Install Shopify's Translate & Adapt app to review and edit any string.
  3. Edit theme text under the app's Theme area. Changes save to your store, not the theme.

Note: Translate & Adapt is a free Shopify app. It is where you override any shipped wording or translate content the theme can't reach automatically, such as your own section text.

Country and currency selectors

When your store sells to more than one country, the footer can show selectors for country/region and language. A country carries its currency, so choosing one sets both.

  1. Set up markets under Settings → Markets, including the countries and currencies you sell in.
  2. In the theme editor, open the Footer section.
  3. Turn on Show country/region selector and Show language selector.

Each selector only appears when there is more than one option to choose from. A store with a single country and language shows neither.
