Will updating the theme erase my changes?
Updating never erases anything, because it never touches the theme you're using. Wonpa ships as a ZIP, so a new version installs as a separate theme in your library and leaves your current one alone.
The catch runs the other way: the new copy starts with stock settings. Your colors, fonts, layout, wholesale settings, and section content are stored in the theme's own files, so none of it carries over to a new install automatically.
What that means in practice:
- Upload the new ZIP under Online Store → Themes → Add theme. It arrives unpublished.
- Re-apply your theme settings and rebuild your section content on the new copy.
- Preview it, then publish. Your old theme stays in the library as a fallback.
Careful
Edits made directly to theme code don't carry across either. Keep a record of them outside the theme so you can re-apply them to the new version.
If you only need one fix from a new release, applying that single file change to your existing theme is usually less work than reconfiguring a fresh copy.
