Header search
The search bar sits in the header and suggests results as buyers type. It matches product titles, vendors, collections, pages, and — because wholesale buyers order by part number — variant SKUs.
Show the search bar
Show search bar sits under Layout in the Header section and is on by default, so the bar is there from the start. Turn it off and the header has no search field.
Predictive suggestions
Suggestions appear in a panel below the bar once a buyer has typed two characters. Results are grouped:
- Suggestions — matching search terms.
- Products — with thumbnail, and optional vendor and price.
- Collections and pages — matching collections and content pages.
The panel fetches up to eight matches of each resource type, so Suggestions and Products hold at most eight rows each. Collections and pages merges two resource types into one group, so it can list up to sixteen — eight collections followed by eight pages.
A View all results link at the bottom opens the full search page for the current query.

Typing a part number surfaces products whose variant SKUs match.
What shows in a product row
- Open Theme settings → Search.
- Turn on Show vendor in suggestions to print the vendor under each product title.
- Turn on Show price in suggestions to show each product's price.
Note
When Hide prices for guests is on (Theme settings → Wholesale), prices are withheld from the suggestion panel until a buyer signs in, even if Show price in suggestions is on.
Keyboard
The panel is a combobox. Use the Down and Up arrows to move through suggestions, Enter to open the highlighted one, and Escape to close the panel. With nothing highlighted, Enter runs a full search and opens the results page.
Turning predictive search off
Predictive suggestions are controlled by Theme settings → Search → Enable predictive search. With it off, the bar still works: typing and pressing Enter goes straight to the search results page, with no live panel.
