Company and location switcher

B2B customers who buy for more than one location can switch which location they are ordering for, straight from the header. Prices, catalogs, and payment terms follow the location they pick.

Note

The switcher only appears for a signed-in customer attached to a company with more than one location. Guests and regular retail customers never see it. Companies and company locations are available on every Shopify plan; assigning a separate catalog to each location, so that switching also changes pricing, is a Shopify Plus capability.

Before you start

The theme reads the locations Shopify says the signed-in buyer may order for. It builds the list; it never decides who is on it. For a dropdown to appear at all:

The setting

Show company and location sits under B2B in the Header section and is on by default, so a B2B store needs no setup here. Turn it off to keep the company and location out of the header row.

The setting reads: "Lets B2B customers switch their active company location from the header."

How it behaves

The header shows the company name and the current location. When the customer's company has more than one location, this opens a dropdown listing every location they can order for; picking one sets it as active and reloads with that location's pricing. When the company has a single location, the header shows the company and location as plain text with no dropdown.

Choosing a location uses Shopify's own location handling — the theme doesn't store the choice itself.

Narrow screens

The header switcher is hidden at 1100px and below to save room, so most tablets do not show it either. On phones and small tablets, buyers switch location from their account instead, or from the announcement bar switcher if you have enabled it.

The announcement bar switcher

A second switcher can sit in the announcement bar above the header. It is a separate toggle: Theme settings → Wholesale → Show company location switcher. It follows the same rules — a signed-in B2B customer with more than one location gets the dropdown, and one-location companies see static text. See Announcement bar.
