Announcement bar

A dark strip above the header for a wholesale badge, short promo messages, a utility menu, and a call-to-action button. B2B customers also see their company name here, with a location switcher beside it when their company has more than one location.

Add it in the theme editor: open the Header group in the sections list and add the Announcement bar section.

Badge

Show B2B badge is on by default, so the badge is there as soon as you add the section. To change what it says, open the Announcement bar section and set Badge text. It defaults to "B2B Wholesale".

The badge shows only when the toggle is on and the text field has a value, so either turning the toggle off or clearing the text hides it.

Messages

Add a Message block for each line of promo copy. The bar allows up to three. Each block has a Text field that accepts inline formatting and links.

Note

Messages hide at 1100px and below to keep the bar from crowding, so most tablets never see them. Put anything a buyer must see — freight thresholds, cutoffs — on the product or cart pages as well.

Utility menu

Set Utility menu to show a row of small links on the right of the bar, such as help or order-status pages. Build the menu in your Shopify admin under Navigation first. These links are hidden at 768px and below.

If customer accounts are on and no one is signed in, a Sign in link appears here automatically. It renders as one of these same small links, so it is hidden on phones along with the rest of them. Buyers on a phone sign in from the account icon in the header instead.

Call-to-action button

  1. Set Button label. It defaults to "Become a stockist".
  2. Set Button link to the page it should open.

Leave the label blank to hide the button. With no link set, the button points to the account registration page.

B2B company switcher

When a signed-in B2B customer has more than one location, the bar shows their company name and a location switcher on the right. This is controlled by Theme settings → Wholesale → Show company location switcher, separate from the switcher in the header row. See Company and location switcher.
